Depending on the scheme and the arrangement in place, transactions are placed either directly with the asset management company or through an empanelled distribution partner. Quantamental Strategic Ventures is remunerated by trail commission on the schemes it distributes, and where a distribution partner is involved, by a share of it. This does not change the position set out below: nothing is charged to you directly, and the commission forms part of the expense ratio the scheme already carries rather than being deducted from your investment.

Because commission differs from one scheme to another, a conflict of interest is inherent in distribution. It is managed the same way for every client here: selection criteria are set before any shortlist is drawn, and they do not move according to what a scheme pays.

Distributor commission is contained within the total expense ratio of the scheme. Nothing is deducted from your investment separately, you pay us nothing directly, and we charge no advisory fee. The commission attaching to your own holdings appears in the Consolidated Account Statement you receive twice a year, and every asset management company publishes its distributor commissions half-yearly on the AMFI website.

Portfolio Management Services and Specialised Investment Funds carry risks of their own, which differ from those of a mutual fund and are in some respects greater. A Specialised Investment Fund may take derivative exposure and unhedged short positions. A Portfolio Management Service is typically far more concentrated than a mutual fund, and each transaction the manager makes is a taxable event for the investor. The disclosure or offer documents for either should be read in full before investing. Neither guarantees a return, and neither guarantees the preservation of capital.
